Serena Khahera is a first-generation Indian-American who currently serves as a digital media specialist for Mayor Matt Mahan, creating and executing social and digital content. Born and raised in the East Bay, Serena attended Cal State Long Beach where she graduated with a degree in communication and media studies with a minor in Korean. She has a special interest in writing, social media marketing, public relations, and language. Prior to working her first political role, Serena was an entertainment journalist and social media manager for a celebrity chef in Los Angeles, spending her free time on red carpets and interviewing some of her favorite celebrities.

When she’s not working, Serena enjoys traveling, taking film photos, hiking with her dog Milo, and going on long drives on the coast. Serena is passionate about helping create a more diverse future and probably listening to music while doing it.
